Position Overview

The Transportation, Warehouse and Logistics Manager leads a skilled team of Inventory and Supply Officers and Storepersons, managing Insitu Pacific's inventory, receipt, dispatch, and control of third party and customer property. You'll combine hands-on warehouse expertise with leadership, ensuring our logistics operations meet the highest standards for our customers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the Transportation, Warehouse, and Logistics team, supervising daily tasks and organising warehouse activities at Insitu Pacific sites.
  • Serve as the key contact for warehousing and logistics in internal forums and customer meetings
  • Provide reporting to internal and external stakeholders including content for external customer deliverables and reports relating to status of inventory, condition, dispatch and receipt delivery timeframes, deficits, demands and issues
  • Oversight and establishment of processes and procedures relating to inventory, warehouse and shipping
  • Align team objectives with company strategy, driving process improvement activitiesDevelopment and implementation of tools, systems, processes, procedures, work instructions and templates (including SAP or other customer ERP tool and Costpoint).
  • Coordinate and assign tasks for managing stock, shipping materials (including dangerous goods), solving delivery issues, handling, storing, and packaging items, preparing deployment kits, tracking assets, and disposing of materials.
  • Define performance metric requirements, perform trend analysis and take mitigating action to meet performance objectives. Manage periodic data reporting requirements and responds to ad hoc requests. Lead process improvement activities.
  • Establish and maintain additional warehouse sites or growth of sites to cater for business expansion.
  • Coaching and developing Inventory Supply Officers and Storepersons.

Qualifications

Essential

  • Minimum of 10 years' experience in warehouse management roles.
  • Experience in supervising and managing personnel, including tasking and performance management.
  • Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal).
  • The ability to manage multiple tasks effectively while working to schedule commitments.
  • The ability to work accurately and unsupervised, and the ability to prioritise work as required and manage external/internal resources.
  • Demonstrate ability to meet and adhere to critical deadlines.
  • Possession of or ability to obtain licence or ticket in operation of forklift, order picker and similar.

Desirable

  • Experience in the use of SAP, inclusive of transactional experience.
  • Experience in the use of normal Inventory Management or ERP tools ie. Costpoint, SAP etc.
  • Experience in a relevant Defence logistics or inventory management role.
  • Demonstrated skills in successfully negotiating elements of contracts / subcontracts relevant to the Transportation, Warehouse and Logistics' discipline.
  • Appropriate qualification or certification in an inventory or logistics discipline.

  • Applicants must be Australian Citizens to meet defence security requirements
  • Able to obtain an Australian Defence Security Clearance
