Shape the Future of Autonomous Aviation

The MQ28 program is not just redefining aerospace innovation; it is redefining the speed of aerospace development. Operating in a high-cadence, hyper-agile environment, the MQ28 program moves from concept to capability at an unprecedented pace.

This is not "business as usual." We are looking for exceptional leaders who thrive in high-velocity environments—individuals who possess the mental agility to navigate ambiguity, the decisiveness to manage rapidly shifting requirements, and the strategic foresight to balance competing, high-stakes priorities without compromising technical integrity. If you are a leader who excels when the pace is relentless and the challenges are complex, we want you to help us lead the charge.

The Role: Ground Segment Hardware Manager.

As a Frontline Manager, you are not just a functional lead; you are an orchestrator of complexity. You will manage teams performing activities across two or more engineering disciplines. You will be responsible for developing and executing project and process plans, implementing policies, acquiring resources, and providing technical oversight of both internal teams and external suppliers.

Focus: The intersection of Communications, Networked Systems, and Infrastructure Engineering.
You will lead the teams responsible for the robust hardware backbone of the MQ28 ground infrastructure. This includes managing the integration of command and control (C2) hardware, high-bandwidth data links, and the physical interfaces required to support fleet-wide operations and maintenance in a dynamic operational landscape.

What You Will Do (Core Responsibilities)

  • Technical Oversight: Provide approval of technical approaches, products, and processes, ensuring "first-time quality" and adherence to regulatory requirements.
  • Project & Resource Management: Develop and execute project schedules, identify resource requirements, and manage budgets to meet defined program milestones.
  • Risk & Readiness: Lead Risk Management and Technology Readiness Assessments (TRA) to identify, mitigate, and track technical risks and opportunities.
  • Process Leadership: Implement and simplify complex engineering processes, driving continuous improvement and process measurement to track performance trends.
  • People Leadership: Manage, develop, and motivate a diverse workforce, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional growth.
  • Stakeholder Integration: Build and maintain vital partnerships with customers, program stakeholders, and external technical suppliers.

What We Are Looking For (Competencies)

Technical & Analytical Excellence:

  • Systems Thinking: The ability to see the "big picture" and understand how changes in one discipline impact the entire MQ28 ecosystem.
  • Multi-Disciplinary Knowledge: Advanced comprehension of various engineering disciplines (e.g., Electrical, Mechanical, Software, or Systems) and how they interact.
  • Analytical Rigor: Ability to synthesize complex data to develop actionable conclusions and technical recommendations.
  • Design Mastery: Knowledge of advanced design concepts, including concurrent engineering and Design for Manufacture/Assembly (DFM/A).

Business & Leadership Acumen:

  • Influencing & Communication: The ability to persuade stakeholders, build commitment to new ideas, and convey complex concepts clearly across various media.
  • Business Intelligence: An understanding of how Boeing operates, including the ability to navigate formal and informal networks to achieve strategic goals.
  • Strategic Resource Management: Proven capability in project scheduling, budget management, and the acquisition of technical resources.
  • Safety & Quality Culture: A proactive commitment to safety awareness and a "zero-defect" mindset regarding technical quality and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in a technical leadership role managing multi-disciplinary engineering teams.
  • Demonstrated success in managing complex projects within an aerospace or highly regulated defense environment.
  • Degree in an Engineering discipline (or equivalent experience).
  • Ability to obtain and maintain necessary security clearances.
