The opportunity

We are seeking a highly motivated Aerospace Structural engineer to support a world class fleet of air combat and electronic attack aircraft, the F/A-18F Super Hornet and EA-18G Growler. As a member of our Sustainment Operation Engineering team, you will support the Aircraft Structural Integrity (ASI) program which is essential in ensuring continuing airworthiness of the aircrafts. The role is based in RAAF Base Amberley, QLD.

Responsibilities:

• Be accountable to the ASI Program Manager in supporting the ASI Program through the various phases of the Aircraft life cycle and the ASI master plan.
• Monitor the Aircraft structural fatigue life to ensure the aircrafts are safe and reliable throughout their life.
• Take ownership of assigned tasks, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to quality standards.

Experience/Qualifications

• Bachelor of Engineering in Aerospace, Aeronautical or Mechanical from nationally accredited program.
• 3+ Years experience in aircraft structural integrity (ASI) or aircraft repairs including aircraft structures design and analysis, or engineering support to in-service aircraft operations.
• Previous experience in developing engineering artefacts within a regulated aviation environment such as, the Defence Aviation Safety Regulation (DASR) environment or similar (CASA, FAA, EASA, etc.)
• Good communication skills to work collaboratively within a multi-discipline team. A proactive mindset with ability to take initiative.
• Applicant must be Australian Citizen and have the ability to obtain and maintain a Government security clearance (NV1).
