The Opportunity
Boeing Defence Australia (BDA) is seeking Expressions of Interest from motivated 3rd or 4th year Apprentices (Mechanical and Avionics) looking to complete their training and transition into a professional career.

Join our team at BDA's Maintenance Repair and Overhaul (MRO) Services Capability. We are specifically looking for apprentices to join the Helicopter Aircrew Training System (HATS) program at Swartz Barracks, Oakey, Queensland. This is a unique opportunity to finish your apprenticeship within a world-class defence environment, working on the contemporary EC-135 T3H helicopter.

As you progress through your final apprenticeship year and move into a junior AME role, you will be involved in:

  • Assisting the MRO team with maintenance, modifications, servicing, and inspections.
  • Learning to perform fault-finding on complex aircraft systems under expert supervision.
  • Developing skills in compliance within DASR Part 145 Maintenance Organisation Exposition (MOE) regulations.
  • Gaining hands-on experience with meticulous documentation and Quality Assurance (QA) procedures.
  • Learning to operate within a high-standard Environmental Health & Safety culture.

 

What you will bring to BDA
To be considered for this EOI, you will need to be:

  • Enrolled in or nearing completion of a Certificate IV in Aeroskills.
  • An Australian Citizen (to meet essential Defence security requirements).
  • A holder of a current driver's licence.
  • Driven, eager to learn, and committed to a long-term career in Defence aviation.
  • Able to complete the Basic Key Skills Builder (BKSB) Assessment as part of the recruitment process
  • Demonstrate a proactive approach to technical problem-solving.

Security Clearance
