The Opportunity

We are seeking a talented Senior Financial Analyst to join our Boeing Defence Australia Finance team. This role consists of project financial management and reportingto support projects across the BDA Portfolio.

Responsibilities:

  • Stakeholder management including liaising with control account managers, finance team and Program Leadership
  • Analysis of cost and schedule performance, communicate financial insights and project status to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Development and maintenance of project budgets and forecasts in conjunction with cost account managers
  • Develop and maintain financial models, comprehensive reports and dashboards to monitor project performance
  • Ensure financial compliance and accuracy in collaboration with project teams
  • Support the month end process with the required journals and reconciliations, including all required reporting
  • Support estimating and pricing activities
  • Recognising areas for continuous Improvement as well as participation in continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Training and mentoring of other staff within the team

Experience/Qualifications

The successful candidate will ideally have sound knowledge across some/all of the following areas:

  • Bachelor Degree in finance, business or commerce; or equivalent experience in the workforce
    • Relevant experience in a project accounting, management accounting or cost control role
    • Intermediate / Advanced Excel Skills - Expertise in Microsoft Excel, including advanced functions, PowerPivot, and dashboard management.
    • Ability to adapt to different situations, be proactive and organise priorities autonomously to meet deadlines
    • Good communication skills and ability to collaborate with a broad range of stakeholders
      • Demonstrated ability to effectively manage financial aspects of diverse projects.
      • Experience in Estimating and Pricing of varying complexity, ideal but not essential
      • Experience in Earned Value Management (EVM) and experience in the use of Earned Value Management Systems for project financial management such as Deltek Cobra
      • Prior experience within the Defence Industry will be highly regarded

Successful candidates must be willing to undergo the standard government vetting process (full life background check). BDA will sponsor and support this clearance.
