The opportunity

We are seeking a talented Project Management Specialist to join our AIR6500 Program, contributing to the delivery of the Joint Air Battle Management System, one of the most complex and challenging programs to be undertaken by Defence. Within Boeing the AIR6500 program is part of the broader Battlespace Communications System enterprise, delivering and sustaining complex solutions in support of Command, Control, Communications and Computer Systems across Land, Air and Sea domains.

The role is Brisbane based.

About the Role

We are looking for a dynamic Project Management Specialist who will bring effective communication and relationship building strengths and program management rigor in support of the AIR6500 Program.

The AIR6500 Project Management Specialist will report to the AIR6500 Program Manager as a member of the program leadership team.  This role has a focus on relationships with program stakeholders both internally, across different functional areas within the Battlespace Communications System enterprise and externally with our direct AIR6500 customers. This relationship management is crucial for the successful delivery of the AIR6500 program. 

Our ideal candidate will have strong relationship management and organisational skills and the ability to drive collaboration across the AIR6500 internal and external teams. A proactive approach will be vital on this fast paced program. You will assist in the development of project management artifacts and communicate project status updates to all stakeholders, ensuring everyone is informed and aligned to successfully drive project goals and deliverables.

Responsibilities:

  • Leads the development, delivery and successful outcome of subcontract data requirement list items, collaborating extensively across the BCS enterprise to ensure completion.
  • Management of all program baselines and development of internal and external program reports and metrics.
  • Leads the management of planning and integration activities, ensuring mission system and support system development activities are effectively planned and executed in accordance with the program iterative execution model.
  • Works within the program leadership team to improve project management processes, business systems, and implement best practices that support project decision makers.

Experience/Qualifications

  • Passion for establishing and fostering positive team cultures.
  • High level communication skills with a strong focus on building successful relationships with a broad range of both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Extensive experience in project planning, managing and reporting progress throughout the lifecycle of a program.
  • Experience working within a complex program environment and an understanding of engineering lifecycle management.
  • Formal Project Management, Business or Management qualifications desired, however prior experience will be considered.

  • Successful candidates must be willing to undergo the standard government vetting process (full life background check). BDA will sponsor and support this clearance.
