The opportunity
We are seeking a talented Front Line Engineering Manager - Specialty Engineering to support our world-class airborne surveillance, communications and battle management system, the E-7A Wedgetail. This role is based in Williamtown, Port Stephens NSW, supporting operational outcomes and working closely with teams across the enterprise.
This leadership role will oversee the specialty engineering team, comprising reliability, safety and flight operations engineering. The successful candidate will play a key role in sustaining platform capability, improving engineering efficiency, and enabling informed decision-making as the platform progresses through its mid-life phase.
A major focus of this role will be obsolescence management, ensuring engineering solutions are developed and implemented to mitigate emerging risks and maintain operational readiness. You will also lead the optimisation of tools and methods used in engineering data review, helping the team improve insight, speed, and effectiveness in support of sustainment outcomes.
This is a great opportunity for a leader who enjoys working across operational, technical, and program environments, and who is motivated by delivering practical engineering outcomes that directly support the fleet.
We do encourage flexible work arrangements, balanced with the needs of the business and the operational environment. Some travel will be required, including visits to Amberley, Brisbane and Adelaide.
