The opportunity

In this role you will be focused on the F/A 18F Super Hornet and EA 18G Growler fleets located at RAAF Base Amberley, as an essential member of the program's core leadership team.

We are seeking interest from talented and motivated MRO Professionals, with the desire to join the Boeing team in support of our Air Combat and Electronic Attack (ACEA) Sustainment Program.

You will be the key MRO Manager accountable to the Program Manager for directing, leading and coordinating the ACEA program's Base Maintenance and Modification Service deliveries.

Successful applicants may be required to travel domestically or internationally and work away from their designated work location to support business or customer requirements periodically throughout the year. This scope of work will be achieved through effective management of both Boeing and customer governance and assurance compliance, so we are looking for candidates who are adaptable, flexible, and eager to embrace all aspects of this position.

 

What You'll Do:

  • Lead with Excellence: Provide leadership and management to our Maintenance Team, driving exceptional performance and results.
  • Collaborate for Success: Work closely with Boeing and Commonwealth of Australia leadership to integrate efforts and deliver outstanding outcomes.
  • Optimize Maintenance Schedules: Ensuring fleet and maintenance staggers providing assurance from daily flying program needs thru to long-term sustainable fleet health
  • Uphold Standards: Ensure adherence to Boeing policies and procedures, maintaining compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.
  • Ensure Fiscally Responsibility: By balancing BDA financial expectations against the requirement to adhere to CASG cost principals, ensuring overall and effective cost account management.
  • Foster Team Development: Use your exceptional soft skills to lead and manage a team of over 75 technical personnel, building a high performing team, promoting safety, and championing professional and personal growth.
  • Drive Ethical Practices: Ensure that team objectives are met while upholding our ethical values and compliance with legislative, DASR, ISO, and Boeing standards.

 

What We're Looking For:

  • Qualifications: Formal qualifications in either Aviation Maintenance, Engineering, Project Management or a Technical Discipline.
  • Skills: -
    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate between stakeholders of differing backgrounds and experiences
    • Business acumen to ensure prioritisation and pragmatic deconfliction of competing requirements across multiple stakeholders
    • Emotional intelligence to intuitively identify and action stakeholders needs when conducting business in a high tempo environment
  • Experience:Knowledge: Familiarity with DASR requirements, ISO standards related to Quality Management Systems, Safety Management Systems, and Environmental Management Systems.
    • Proven experience in managing and leading teams of technical personnel, preferably in an aviation maintenance environment.
    • Demonstrated ability to balance customer and business priorities to meet required outcomes.
    • Demonstrated ability to operate in a high paced operational environment.

    • Meet Defence Security Requirements

 

Desirable Criteria:

  • Defence / Defence Industry experience is highly regarded

 

Security Clearance

You will be required to successfully undergo the vetting process for a government security clearance (Neg Vetting Level 1 min) sponsored by BDA. Therefore, you must be willing to disclose all relevant and required information and must have the ability to verify your background for your whole life i.e. birth to present time.
