The Opportunity -

BDA is seeking a Maintenance Technician Instructor to join the MQ-28 Ghost Bat team. In this role, you will primarily develop and deliver maintenance training while also supporting the Ghost Bat capability as a Maintenance Technician.  You will contribute to the creation of courseware, including digital training packages and simulation-based training for Introduction-Into-Service.

This role is based at Amberley, with travel to other sites required.

As a Maintenance Technician Instructor at BDA, your maintenance training expertise will support the development of DASR- compliant training solutions for current and future versions of the Ghost Bat aircraft. You will work closely with other subject‑matter experts, software engineers, and instructional designers to deliver high‑quality training to a demanding schedule.

Key responsibilities:

  • Design, develop and deliver maintenance technician training courseware to customers
  • Deliver training through computer-aided learning, instructor led and virtual means
  • Prepare, conduct and debrief theory and practical lessons
  • Conduct assessments
  • Support maintenance of qualifications within the capability
  • Support test and development activities
  • Support customer training requirements
  • Support training team requirements relating to capability changes
  • Attend deployment activities in support of training and test requirements
  • Provide SME input into current and future activities

About you

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Cert IV in Aeroskills
  • Cert IV in Training and Assessment
  • B Class MAML holder
  • Minimum 2 years' experience as a maintenance technician instructor
  • Experience working or instructing within a military maintenance organisation (desirable)
  • Proficiency with authoring tools such as Articulate
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate across multiple teams
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to develop courseware from requirements
  • High attention to detail
  • Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally
