The Opportunity
Boeing Defence Australia (BDA) is seeking a Contractor Supervisor to join the MQ‑28 Ghost Bat Production Facility build at Wellcamp, Toowoomba, QLD.

This role would suit someone with client-side or head contractor experience in heavy industry or large facility plants. It involves working on a multi-contractor construction site with multiple concurrent workfront interfaces. The emphasis is on coordinating contractor teams and site supervision. It requires ensuring compliance with stringent site safety procedures and processes. Sound judgment, continuous improvement, and the ability to act decisively in a high-pressure environment are essential.

This is a rare opportunity to work on Boeing's first final assembly facility outside North America and help build a state-of-the-art site that will deliver Australia's first military-designed combat aircraft in more than 50 years and redefine how advanced aircraft are made.

Why this is exciting

  • Be part of a team that will be building a state-of-the-art final assembly facility — shaping processes and decisions from day one, influence key milestones, and enjoy competitive reward, relocation support (if applicable), and the opportunity to grow with a long-term, high-impact program.
  • Shape the future of Australian aerospace manufacturing — your work will support national defence capabilities and the growth of local industry.

As the Contractor Supervisor at Boeing you will:

  • Oversee day‑to‑day site activities to ensure work is executed safely, on schedule and to quality requirements.
  • Carrying out approval and oversight of JSEAs, isolations (LOTO), permits, and high-risk work across site.
  • Manage site setup and logistics: control access, materials delivery, storage, plant positioning and housekeeping.
  • Monitor daily progress and report deviations to the Project Manager; update look‑ahead plans and schedules
  • Support inductions and training for new workers; check licenses, tickets and competency of operatives and plant operators.
  • Issue and follow up on non‑conformance reports (NCRs) and safety corrective actions; verify closure.
  • Liaise with subcontractor supervisors, client representatives and inspectors during routine site meetings.
  • Maintain records: daily logs, attendance sheets, inspection checklists, SWMS/permit registers and handover documentation.
  • Coordinate testing, inspections and handovers for completed elements with QA and commissioning teams.
  • Conduct daily site inspections and keep site diary entries, including weather, workforce, deliveries and notable events
  • Verify work is carried out to drawings, specifications and instructions; raise RFIs and coordinate minor design clarifications with the project team.
  • Ensure waste disposal is adequate and aligned with BDA's policies and procedures

Who we're looking for

  • Relevant trade Certificate or Diploma, licences or tickets where applicable (e.g., carpentry, plumbing, electrical supervision credentials if supervising those trades).
  • Plant tickets if required to operate equipment (forklift, elevated work platform) or evidence of supervising certified operators.
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications and basic setting out.
  • Strong knowledge of Australian Standards / Acts & Regulations.
  • Collaborative mindset, excellent communication skills and a drive to mentor others.
  • Willingness to be based at Wellcamp with occasional travel to suppliers and Boeing sites.
  • EHS experience

Security requirement

  • Applicants must be Australian Citizens to meet defence security requirements.

Location

  • Wellcamp (Toowoomba Regional Airport), Queensland, Australia
  • This role will commence in September 2026

This is an 18 month fixed term contract.
