The Opportunity
Boeing Defence Australia (BDA) are seeking an Automation Engineer to join the MQ‑28 Ghost Bat Production Facility currently being built at Wellcamp Toowoomba, QLD.

What you'll get to do:
- Support the commissioning and installation of composites fabrication equipment in our new Toowoomba Wellcamp facility;
- Create documentation, training & best practice material for automated systems;
- Influence production system design by giving technical recommendations to the equipment and processes being installed;
- Develop expertise on the asset operations so they meet composite fabrication requirements;
- Evaluate emerging technologies for potential application to business needs;
- Provide technical guidance, ensuring personnel operate within technical guidelines;
- Ensure compliance to safety, regulatory and engineering requirements; and
- Willing to be hands-on with production equipment to support process development and troubleshooting
Who we're looking for:
- Must hold Tertiary Qualifications in Engineering; specialising in Mechatronics/Mechanical will be highly regarded.
- 1+ years of previous experience in automation and/or mechanical systems.
- Knowledge of continuous improvement principles and practices is highly desirable.
- Effective communication skills with different stakeholders across the business.
- Works well with others and encourages team building.
- Assertive, self-motivated and capable of working with a high degree of initiative.
- Must be based at Wellcamp with willingness to travel to suppliers and Boeing sites across Australia
