The Opportunity
Boeing Defence Australia (BDA) are seeking Aircraft Maintenance Technicians (Avionics) to join the AH-64 Apache sustainment and support team.

Program overview
The AH-64E Apache program provides advanced attack helicopter capability to the Australian Defence Force, enabling precision strike, armed reconnaissance and close air support. This program sustains a critical combat capability, supports interoperability with coalition partners, and underpins Australia's land and joint operations.

What you'll get to do

  • Conduct aircraft and component maintenance within scope of authorisations
  • Ensuring do not proceed past inspection check points until inspected by supervisor.
  • Ensuring all activities including any ancillary tasks are completed for assigned tasks as required.
  • Accurate completion of technical documentation / reports.
  • Prioritising personal and subordinate work tasks and goals.
  • Signifies that work is completed to the specified requirements by stamping the appropriate documentation to this effect as authorised by the Responsible Manager and recorded in their Competency Log Book.
  • Assist the Team Leader in carrying out Workplace assessments in support of Team requirements.
  • Contributes to improvements in the performance of the team (and the organisation generally) by proposing solutions to problems and more effective methods of work.
  • Be an integral part of the Apache capability.

Who we're looking for

  • Must hold a minimum Certificate IV in Aero skills (Avionics) or equivalent trade qualification.
  • Apache familiarisation course (CoA Provided).
  • Demonstrated ability to use initiative, prioritise and work to tight timeframes with limited supervision.
  • Demonstrated success in the development of effective working relationships within a complex organisational structure to meet team, business unit and organisational goals.
  • Be able to demonstrate a sound knowledge of aviation Quality Assurance (QA) procedures, aircraft maintenance / modification operating procedures and documentation.
  • Be able to demonstrate a sound knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety procedures.
  • Demonstrated experience in using Technical Manuals / Publications in the repair of Aeronautical product and systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and technical directives.
  • Working at Heights qualification.
