The opportunity

We are seeking talented IT System Administrators to support a world class airborne surveillance, communications and battle management system, the United Kingdom E-7 Wedgetail.

These roles are based in Williamtown, New South Wales.

Responsibilities:

These roles will involve securing and maintaining computer systems production environments, hardening systems and security remediation activities.

Some of the key responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting multiple operating systems (Windows, Linux) and hardware (Servers, PC's, Storage).
  • Administration of Virtual Servers, Active Directory & System monitoring
  • Daily System admin / help desk support
  • Fault finding and resolving ad-hoc problems to prevent system downtime
  • Maintaining IT Security JIRA tasks and ensuring timely resolution
  • Assist in the update of IT Documentation

Experience/Qualifications

  • Knowledge of virtualisation for example Horizon, VMWare, VSphere etc essential
  • Understanding of Server Management/Operating systems for example PostGreSQL, MS SQL, Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Exchange, RHEL etc. essential
  • Experience in Backup and Disaster recovery for example Veeam, Eaton IPM, HPE etc. highly desirable
  • Experience in Networking for example Cisco, Palo Alto, Raritan etc. highly desirable
  • Knowledge of Industry recognised information security frameworks (ISO27001, NIST etc) would be beneficial
  • Having Defence experience will prove invaluable in this position.
