The Opportunity

We are seeking a Principal Product Support Specialist to lead excellence across our defence portfolio. The ideal candidate has deep expertise in Product Support, with proven experience in Acquisition and Sustainment programs within regulated defence environments. We are seeking a forward-thinking leader who can integrate traditional methods with emerging technologies, leveraging new approaches with AI and Large Language Models (LLMs) to create innovative workflows that boost quality, efficiency, and productivity across multiple programs.

This role oversees support system analysis, spares provisioning, technical data, training, maintenance/modifications, support equipment, and facilities to ensure smooth program execution. Success requires adaptability to support campaigns from Acquisition through Sustainment, applying design-for-supportability principles and providing expert guidance on program and contractual deliverables.

You may also deliver training on Integrated Product Support, Logistic Support Analysis, or Earned Value Management to small groups.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage support engineering data development, lifecycle support, and ensure accurate technical documentation.
  • Define support requirements, costs, technical objectives, and implement program integration plans aligned with contracts.
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary teams to develop and maintain Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) and Earned Value Management (EVM) for assigned programs.
  • Lead cost estimation and proposal support activities across multiple projects, including R&D efforts.
  • Review engineering change proposals to assess impact on product support and implement necessary adjustments.
  • Prepare and deliver presentations, status reviews, and reports to communicate program progress effectively.

Qualifications/Experience:

  • Proven experience in support integration, lifecycle management, and coordinating complex, multidisciplinary schedules.
  • Strong analytical, organisational, and communication skills, with experience in stakeholder management across customers, contractors, and leadership.
  • Expertise in Earned Value Management (EVM), cost estimation, and proposal support.
  • Deep knowledge of Integrated Product Support elements, including configuration management, supportability analysis, and risk management.
  • Skilled in managing technical data, requirements translation, obsolescence management (DMSMS), and life cycle cost forecasting.
  • Ability to develop maintenance strategies, such as Levels of Repair Analysis (LORA), to optimise sustainment and system availability.
