The Opportunity
Boeing Defence Australia (BDA) are seeking a Quality Production Specialist Lead (QPS) to join the MQ‑28 Ghost Bat Production Facility currently being built at Wellcamp Toowoomba, QLD.
This leadership role will oversee a team of 8 Quality Production Specialists, driving world-class quality standards in the production of Australia's first military aircraft designed and manufactured domestically in over 50 years.
As the QPS Lead, you will be responsible for guiding your team in the review, validation, and resolution of product non-conformances, quality procedures, and engineering requirements. You will ensure compliance with Boeing's Quality Management System (QMS), contractual obligations, and regulatory standards, while fostering a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence.

What you'll get to do:
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of 8 Quality Production Specialists to deliver high-quality production outcomes.
- Oversee the review and validation of product non-conformances, disposition types, quality procedures, and engineering requirements.
- Guide root cause analysis and failure investigations, applying advanced aerospace design and systems knowledge.
- Ensure effective implementation and oversight of corrective and preventive actions, monitoring timely completion.
- Review and approve quality planning changes and disposition of nonconforming hardware, products, and processes.
- Establish and drive process and product improvements through technical initiatives.
- Monitor team performance and quality verification activities, providing regular reports and insights to program leadership.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering, production, suppliers, and regulatory bodies.
- Support the Qualification of first-of-type products and new production processes at the Wellcamp facility.
- Promote adherence to Boeing's safety, quality, and compliance standards.
- Facilitate knowledge sharing and continuous professional development within the team.
Who we're looking for:
- Tertiary qualification in Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related discipline (Highly desirable).
- Proven leadership experience in quality management within aerospace or advanced manufacturing environments.
- Deep understanding of Quality Management Systems (QMS), including ISO 9001 and AS9100 standards.
- Strong expertise in product non-conformance review, root cause analysis, and corrective/preventive action management.
- Advanced knowledge of aerospace design, systems integration, and failure analysis.
- Experience leading teams in a high-pressure, fast-paced production environment.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and mentoring skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively across geographically dispersed teams.
