This role will be a key leadership role in the team that develops and builds something that matters, and will leave a legacy in Australian Defence capability.
Why this is exciting
- This is a rare opportunity to work on Boeing's first military-designed combat aircraft in more than 50 years and redefine how Collaborative Combat Aircraft are used in operational service
- Work on an advanced, high‑visibility defence program (MQ‑28) that blends aerospace development, autonomy, aerospace systems and new production approaches.
- Be a key leader in the team that shapes the future of the Australian aerospace industry — your work will support national defence capabilities and the growth of local industry.
What you'll get to do:

Responsibilities:
- Overall Program Manager and delegate for contracts and orders in execution for the MQ-28 Ghost Bat
- Oversee all international campaign activity for the MQ-28 Ghost Bat to ensure executability and integration of future work into the Enterprise
- Lead the centralised MQ-28 Program Integration Office, ensuring alignment of priorities, resources, schedules and execution activities across the Enterprise
- Drive integrated product line execution across development, production, flight test, and operational capability maturation activities to ensure cohesive enterprise delivery outcomes
- Maintain oversight of enterprise level dependencies, risks and constraints to enable executable commitments and balanced delivery across concurrent programs and campaigns
- Partner directly with Phantom Works to identify, mature and accelerate future capability insertions, embedding cutting-edge technology into the MQ-28 platform
- Influence government and policy stakeholders to enable international sales, program growth and co-development partnerships with key allied nations
- Lead business operations across the MQ-28 Enterprise, embedding lean governance, integrated planning, and performance accountability while retaining start-up level speed and agility.
- Manage direct customer relationships across executing orders, including with the Royal Australian Air Force
Who we're looking for:
- Demonstrated experience leading aerospace development programs on a large scale.
- Demonstrated experience leading programs within Defence or Defence industry.
- Bachelor's degree in Program Management, Engineering, Science or a related field with relevant industry qualifications.
- Demonstrated communication skills, including interpersonal, presentation, and analysis/reporting skills.
- Demonstrated track record of team leadership and personnel development.
- Australian citizenship and eligibility for an Australian Department of Defence security clearance to Secret level and satisfaction of ITAR requirements.
- Minimum 15 years' experience in the aerospace, defence or manufacturing industry.
Leadership Requirements
- Lead the development and implementation of BDA's integrated MQ28 strategy in alignment with Boeing enterprise policies, and Australian Government frameworks.
- Advise BDA senior leadership on related risks, and mitigation strategies.
- Foster and promote MQ28 awareness across the organisation, including education and behavioural change.
- Lead, coach, and develop a multidisciplinary team of subject matter experts.
- Champion a constructive culture founded on trust, collaboration, and accountability across the program underpinned by the Boeing Values and Behaviours.
- Engage and collaborate with key stakeholders to align BDA operations and strategic priorities with applicable requirements, standards, and best practices.
