The Opportunity

Do you want to be part of the team that is at the forefront of designing, developing, producing and testing the MQ-28 Collaborative Combat Aircraft (CCA)?

Boeing Defence Australia (BDA) is currently looking for an experienced System Administrator to flex their Microsoft Windows stack skills on this cutting-edge project.

As a key member of our project delivery team, you will be joining a team that is spearheading the expansion and sustainment of a multi-tenanted, geographically dispersed, high-assurance network. Your role will involve system administration across compute, storage, networking, client delivery services and infrastructure applications. As the system you'll be working on is a highly secure, defence accredited environment, practical experience with the Australian Signals Directorate (ASD) Information Security Manual (ISM), is highly desirable.

Working closely with Solution Architecture, Network Administration and Cyber specialists, you will have the opportunity to provide technical design reviews and subject matter expertise in key technology aspects of the design.

The role also includes problem resolution and technical support for the delivery of systems, user administration, ongoing monitoring of system performance to support capacity planning, and backup and disaster recovery planning.

This role is based in Brisbane and requires a NV2 security clearance. Some inter-state travel may be required to Boeing sites within Australia including Amberley and Woomera.

Essential Experience & Qualifications

  • Expertise in implementing and administrating complex, high-assurance systems that are security focused.
  • Experience in building/administrating Windows Server and Linux environments.
  • Storage administration and integration skills with hypervisors (Fibre Channel, Pure Storage and VMware).
  • Experience in Identity Management, Multi-Factor Authentication and Group Policy configuration and implementation (Active Directory, Federation Services, RSA).
  • Design and implementation of application and desktop delivery services (Citrix XenApp, Virtual Delivery Agent (VDA) and Gateway).
  • Systematic and logical problem-solving skills.
  • A demonstrated ability to produce clear and concise documentation.
  • The ability to communicate and collaborate with a diverse team, in a conscientious and inclusive way is valued by our team.

Other specific criteria:

  • The ability to undertake occasional ad-hoc tasks outside of core business hours (e.g. system upgrades).
  • Have an Australian driver's license.

Desirable criteria:

  • Defence industry experience.
  • Working knowledge of the Australian Signals Directorate (ASD) Information Security Manual (ISM).
  • Experience implementing server hardening.
  • Experience with DevOps / DevSecOps Technologies.
  • Experience with Backup Administration (Veeam).
  • Working knowledge of Cisco networking and Palo Alto firewalls with an understanding of security and segregation techniques.
  • Experience delivering using the Scaled Agile approach.
  • University Degree or industry certification in the chosen discipline.
  • Security+
  • ITIL Fundamentals Certification.
