The opportunity

Boeing Defence Australia (BDA) is seeking a Software Engineering Manager to join the MQ28 program.  This role, reporting to the Mission Systems Software Engineering Manager, will lead a team of Software Engineers and Systems Engineers overseeing the design, development, testing, and integration of software for the MQ-28 Mission Segment software for the MQ28 program. 

In addition, this role is responsible for:

• Lead and manage a team of software engineers, providing technical guidance, mentorship, and performance feedback.
• Oversee the software development lifecycle, including requirements analysis, design, coding, testing, and deployment.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including systems engineering, hardware engineering, and quality assurance, to ensure seamless integration of software components.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance software development efficiency, productivity, and quality.
• Participate in Agile Planning Events and day to day oversight and execution of the SCRUM teams.
• Oversee the Software Development activities in accordance with the Boeing EMS and Approved program plans
• Actively engage with your team and support them on their career journey identifying progression and development opportunities

This role requires the ability to manage complex projects; and well developed communication skills to proactively engage with both internal and external stakeholders.

Essential Experience & Qualifications

• Excellent communicator who can engage a diverse team and stakeholder group.
• Experience in leading and project managing Software Engineering or Inform.ation Technology teams
• Familiar with Agile Software Development Practices and SCRUM Master role
• Experience with security governance, compliance and risk or working in classified environments and with security-controlled material.
• Personable and dedicated to the growth, development and success of your team

An Australian Defence Security clearance up to NV1 and meet the requirements of various Export licenses in use across the Business.
