The Wakulda System is a world-leading Air Defence C2 System. BDA is looking for a Configuration & Data Management Specialist to join the Wakulda Systems and Specialty Engineering team. We are focused on creating Engineering excellence through diversity, culture, and strategic initiatives that will enable the workforce.  In this role you will apply Configuration and Data Management principles to administer engineering change activities and effectively control project data to support program execution.

This role is based in Brisbane, Queensland.

As a Configuration & Data Management Specialist within BDA, you will

  • Assist in the creation and administration of Program change artefacts.
  • Participate in product technical design reviews and audits.
  • Support Change Control Board administration activities.
  • Assist with configuration status accounting.
  • Work closely with the team Program Manager, Engineers under guidance and direction of the Configuration Management lead to achieve project milestones.
  • Control the receipt, registration, protection, release, distribution, handling and storage of project data and support secure data transfer activities.
  • Maintain controls to meet security, trade control and intellectual property requirements.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of configuration and data management standards and processes.
  • Support mentoring of project team members in the use of the Product Lifecycle Management tool.
  • Assist with the retention, archival and disposal requirements of stored records and data.
  • Effectively interface with project team members, the customer and key stakeholders.

About you

You are a flexible team player with willingness to learn, ideally hold prior experience such as:

  • Knowledge and understanding of industry configuration management standards such as ANSI/EIA-649, EIA-649_1, MIL-HDBK-61 and EIA-836
  • Well-developed communication skills to work collaboratively to a high standard within a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Working knowledge of a Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) or Configuration Status Accounting Tool
