The Opportunity

As the in‑country lead for the Global Supply Chain (GSC) Program, you will provide strategic supply chain leadership by aligning Australian suppliers with The Boeing Company global networks to drive export opportunities for Australian Industry. Working extensively with the Senior Manager International Strategic Partnerships you will partner with the Boeing Office of Australian Industry Capability (OAIC) to deliver the GSC program through identifying supply contract opportunities and fostering relationships with Australian firms while monitoring performance against the GSC framework.

The role will support the Australian based industry team meet contract obligations and champion capability‑building initiatives within the Boeing Supply Chain. The role will include significant collaboration with the Office of Defence Industry Support (ODIS), Austrade, Governments and industry bodies and internal BDA teams, measuring outcomes against GSC and Australian Industry Capability (AIC) indicators to ensure supplier retention, export diversification and achievement of program goals.

Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Supply Chain Leadership - Align Australian suppliers with The Boeing Company global supply chains, embedding them to boost Australian industry opportunities and sovereign Defence resilience.
  • GSC Program Delivery - Work within the GSC program to identify and advocate for contract opportunities for Australian suppliers; track performance against the GSC Performance Framework.
  • AIC Planning & Assurance - Draft and maintain AIC plans that meet contract requirements, comply with Defence policies and government legislation, and drive capability‑building initiatives.
  • Supplier Engagement & Development - Provide market assistance, training and mentoring; act as the embedded liaison to influence inclusion of Australian capability in global supply chains.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration - Build relationships with ODIS, Austrade, state governments, industry associations and internal BDA teams; share lessons learned and best practice.
  • Performance Monitoring - Measure outcomes against GSC and AIC indicators, reporting contract value, supplier retention, export diversification and contribution to AIC goals.

Experience/Qualifications

  • Australian citizenship; able to obtain Baseline security clearance.
  • Tertiary study in commerce, finance, law, business, management or supply chain (or equivalent experience).
  • Demonstrated teamwork and stakeholder‑engagement abilities.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to produce clear reports and presentations.

Key Attributes of a Successful Candidate

  • Procurement background - practical Supply Chain experience including in purchasing, contract management and/ or supplier development.
  • Willingness to travel - regular site visits and occasional overseas trips to engage with Primes and suppliers.
  • Market Intelligence - proactive in gathering market intelligence and reporting back to the GSC and Australian team.
  • Understanding of the Defence and Aerospace industry - a plus, but not mandatory.
  • Self‑starter - takes initiative while receiving guidance and mentorship.
  • Location: Brisbane preferred with regular travel to sites, supplier locations and occasional overseas facilities
