The Opportunity

BDA is seeking an experienced Avionics/Electrical Engineer with strong grounding in Airworthiness working within DASA, EASA or FAA Regulations to join the Office of Airworthiness team. In this role you will have exposure to and the ability to work on numerous exciting programs and projects across the breadth of Boeing with a primary focus on supporting the E-7A Wedgetail, a world class airborne surveillance, communications and battle management system.

This role can be undertaken in Brisbane, Adelaide, Amberley or Williamtown.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Provide engineering leadership for technical execution of 21J avionics and electrical activities for development and sustainment engineering including the development, review and approval of design artefacts and repairs in accordance with the approved BDA Engineering Management System.
  • Communicate and collaborate with a diverse, multi-disciplinary team, in a conscientious and inclusive way to achieve integrated solutions.
  • Work as a senior member with the team, guiding and mentoring junior engineers, fostering growth in technical expertise and engineering judgment.
  • Advocate for improvements in avionics/electrical methods, standards, and tools, enhancing efficiency and technical excellence.

To be successful you will have expertise in some of the below :

  • Tertiary degree qualification in Aeronautical, Aerospace, Electrical or similar Engineering.
  • Experience in design of aircraft and their components/systems, writing and reviewing technical reports and developing documentation related to avionics and electrical systems.
  • Experience in developing engineering artefacts within a regulated aviation environment such as the Defence Aviation Safety Regulation (DASR) environment or similar (CASA, FAA, EASA, etc.)
  • Experience as a Compliance Verification Engineer is highly desirable.
