The Role:

Are you ready to bring your expertise in Procurement, Contract, and Subcontract Management to a global leader and contribute to programs that make a real difference? Our Joint Systems business is expanding, and we are seeking an experienced Procurement and/or Contracts/Subcontracts Manager to lead a high-performing team responsible for all supplier-related activities in support of our Joint Systems Business Unit, focused on the development and integration of complex defence communications systems and infrastructure in advancing and enhancing multi-domain critical defence networks and communications systems to meet evolving operational needs and keep pace with emerging technology.

In this role, you will have the authority to commit company resources through contracts and agreements. You will manage a team diverse team of Supply Chain professionals across multiple Supplier Management and Procurement disciplines including:

  • Acquisition of goods and services supporting tender responses, existing programs, and operations
  • Supplier assessment and performance improvement
  • Implementation and enhancement of supply chain management processes and procedures

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead, manage, and mentor the team to deliver high-quality outcomes and meet performance targets
  • Manage supplier and subcontractor business relationships, including new business, in-service support, and contractual performance
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners, and team members
  • Lead the development and execution of project and process plans, including risk mitigation and issue resolution impacting the supply chain
  • Drive the implementation of Supply Chain policies and procedures
  • Acquire resources for projects and processes, provide technical management of suppliers, and lead continuous process improvements
  • Develop and implement supplier base plans to optimize the supply chain
  • Collaborate with BDA Supply Chain Management and Business Unit teams to support business growth strategies
  • Oversee and approve technical approaches, products, and processes, and lead negotiations with key suppliers and subcontractors

This position is available at several major centres, including Brisbane/SE QLD, Newcastle, or Adelaide.

About You:

To succeed in this role, you will have:

  • 5+ years of demonstrated experience in Procurement and/or Contract Portfolio Management (Defence Industry or Government experience highly desirable)
  • Proven experience managing supplier relationships and deliverables, including domestic and international vendors
  • Experience in strategic workforce planning and managing geographically dispersed teams to meet multiple project demands
  • Ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent interpersonal, influencing, and negotiation skills
  • Demonstrated success in identifying, establishing, and promoting supply chain process improvements
