Do you have a passion for aviation, specifically helicopters and aspire to teach the next generation of aviation maintainers? If so, we're recruiting for a B2 Avionics Instructor to join our team on a permanent basis.

The position is based at the Army Aviation Training Centre, Oakey Qld and the opportunity will see you training and developing the next generation of aircraft maintenance engineers for the Republic of Singapore fleet of CH-47 aircraft under the Maintenance & Logistic Support Service (MLSS) Program. In accordance with the training requirements, you'll be involved in the delivery of CH-47 academic, on-the-job training and associated assessments to provide job ready, confident and competent maintenance technicians.

The Opportunity -

In partnership with the Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF), Boeing Defence Australia (BDA) provides aircraft maintenance and upgrades, component maintenance solutions, technical support, mission-critical infrastructure support and training on some of the most capable surveillance, command, control, and combat platforms in the world.

We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Instructor / Assessor (Avionics) for the MLSS Program within the CH47F (SG) Maintenance Training Team. This role offers an exciting and unique opportunity whereby we as a customer focused team:

  • Develop and implement methods of face-to-face training as well as exploring student centred learning methodologies.
  • Developing training materials and practical activities to consolidate the trainees learning experience.
  • Providing exceptional support to students and key stakeholders within the MLSS Contract located at Swartz Barracks, Oakey.

The role is based at based Swartz Barracks, Oakey, QLD.

As a Maintenance Instructor / Assessor (Avionics) you will: 

  • Deliver of contracted CH-47F (SG) B2 Aircraft Type and associated maintenance support training in a theory and practical environment, in accordance with appropriate Learning Management Packages (LMPs) and schedules.
  • Work in the capacity of a CH47F Course Manager in accordance with Course Management procedures.
  • Develop of training package materials through continuous improvement activities.
  • Review and amendment of assessment instruments.
  • Support the Training Team Senior in the CH47F Maintenance Training Facility.
  • Support to the MLSS Program and Capability Managers with CH47 Training Program Execution as directed. 
  • Maintain currency on Aircraft Type as a maintainer, as part of continuous improvement.
  • Support the development of the DASR 147 aligned Training System.

To be considered for the role you will have:

  • A Certificate IV Training and Assessment (TAE40116) or equivalent qualification, or willingness to achieve this qualification as part of the role
  • Must hold a CERT IV in Aeroskills (Avionics)
  • Experience with the delivery of training in a Defence or similar environment
  • Highly competent Aeroskills Instructor/Mentor/Coach and courseware development skills.

Desirable:

  • Demonstrated B2 (Avionics) helicopter experience with a B2 Military Aircraft Maintenance Licence (MAML) or CASA licence
  • Interpersonal skills to work in a blended multi-trade team environment
  • An understanding of DASA Part 147 and 66 Regulations.
