BDA is looking for a Configuration & Data Management Specialist to join the Engineering Strategy & Ops team. We are focused on creating Engineering excellence through collaboration, culture, and strategic initiatives that will enable the workforce.  In this role you will apply Configuration Management principles to effectively manage engineering change activities and effectively control project data to support program execution.

This role is based in Brisbane, Queensland.

As a Configuration & Data Management Specialist within BDA, you will

  • Manage and maintain the program's product definition and design data, technical baselines, engineering changes, and current approved configuration in the configuration status accounting tool/s.
  • Perform lifecycle management of engineering changes including participation in the Change Control Boards, product technical design reviews and configuration audits.
  • Control the receipt, registration, protection, release, distribution, handling and storage of project data and support secure data transfer activities.
  • Maintain controls to meet security, trade control and intellectual property requirements.
  • Maintain the health of the Product Lifecycle Management system including the management of access restrictions, account approval and data audits.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of configuration and data management standards and processes, and support mentoring and training on the program's Product Lifecycle Management tool.
  • Assist with the retention, archival and disposal requirements of stored records and data.
  • Effectively interface with project team members, the customer and key stakeholders.

About you

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Formal Configuration Management training / certification is desired;
  • A minimum of 2 years' experience in a similar role, preferable within a related industry.
  • Knowledge and understanding of industry configuration management standards such as ANSI/EIA-649, EIA-649_1, MIL-HDBK-61 and EIA-836
  • Well-developed communication skills to work collaboratively to a high standard within a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Working knowledge of a Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) or Configuration Status Accounting Tool
