About the opportunity
Boeing Defence Australia (BDA) is seeking an experienced Senior Manager to join the FA-18F Super Hornet and EA-18G Growler Sustainment Program as the program's Change Manager. This is a senior leader role that sits within the Sustainment Program's Leadership Team.
Program overview
The ACEA Sustainment Program provides in-service support and upgrade services for the Royal Australian Fleet of FA-18F Super Hornet and EA-18G Growler Aircraft. This Sustainment Program directly contributes to operational readiness, preparedness and platform survivability and lethality.
Position overview
The ACEA Change Manager is responsible for the baseline and project management services for the ACEA Sustainment Program including system changes, capability upgrades and new weapon system integration increasing the survivability and lethality of the Royal Australian Air Force's F/A-18F Super Hornet and EA-18G Growler fleet.
The ACEA Change Team has approximately 30 project managers, engineers and logisticians across Boeing, embedded Royal Australian Air Force Officers and embedded Raytheon project managers. The Change team manages both support system and aircraft technical changes to the ACEA Enterprise and interfaces directly with ACEA System Program Office, Air Force Headquarters, US Navy, The Boeing Company, and 82 Wing.

What you'll get to do
- You will be responsible for ensuring that Boeing and sub-contractors successfully execute a range of complex projects whist ensuring that the Super Hornet and Growler sustainment program objectives are achieved.
- You will be responsible for the change management rigour of Super Hornet and Growler sustainment program execution.
- You will manage performance to ensure cost, quality and schedule requirements of all change activities are delivered to meet and exceed program outcomes.
- You will be responsible for the processing, planning and management execution of all business and technical changes within the Sustainment Program. This includes developing business strategies and management execution of solutions to support a broad range of program and capability changes.
Who we're looking for
A dynamic leader who will bring technical skills, effective communication and relationship building strengths to support our Sustainment Program. You are someone who is comfortable working autonomously and as part of a wider community to seek and drive continuous improvement, including:
- Demonstrated skills in managing large scale, complex projects to successful and timely completion.
- Demonstrated ability to successfully execute high-level management functions including customer liaison, business awareness with a track record of successful execution outcomes.
- Demonstrated experience in a broad range of functional areas project management, engineering, production, maintenance and logistics
- Tertiary qualification in a business related field, e.g. Program Management. Finance or Engineering discipline
- Minimum of 10 years' experience in a Senior Leadership and Management role in a complex program.
- Demonstrated management skills and experience relating to a large complex, technically oriented, concurrently executed program, in both fixed price and time and materials environment.
- High level of customer service and interpersonal communication skills.
- Understanding and appreciation of a matrix based organisation and the demonstrated ability to operate effectively within such an environment.
- Demonstrated ability to develop a solution to problems that are imaginative, thorough and consistent with organisational objectives.
