The Opportunity
Boeing Defence Australia (BDA) is seeking a Computer Based Trainer Developer (CBTD) to join the AH-64 Apache team.  At Boeing you will develop and update computer-based training courseware for delivery in a variety of media in accordance with the Systems Approach to Defence Learning (SADL).

Program overview
The AH-64 Apache program provides advanced attack helicopter capability to the Australian Defence Force, enabling precision strike, armed reconnaissance and close air support. This program sustains a critical combat capability, supports interoperability with coalition partners, and underpins Australia's land and joint operations.

Team members work as an imbedded workforce to support the customer's personnel training requirements within the AH-64E Apache Program. This role offers an exciting and unique opportunity whereby we, as a customer focused team:

  • They review and test basic computer-based training components to ensure they meet customer requirements and are compliant with applicable standards..
  • The CBTD provides technical support for moderately-complex computer-based training courseware and assists in the exploration and evaluation of new technologies in computer-based training to enhance courseware and the development process.
  • The CBTD creates and develops artefacts (schematics, interactive computer panels etc) used to build the courseware.

What you'll get to do

  • Operate a variety of illustrative, editing and presentation software
  • Design and develop computer graphic visual imagery
  • Perform pre-audio-visual capture staff tasks
  • Perform as the lead AV technician during audio-visual capture
  • Provide guidance to TE personnel on best-practice media-capture techniques
  • Produce 2D and 3D animation
  • Undertake AV and animation post-production tasks
  • Quality assure file, final artwork and metadata management
  • Participate in conceptual development
  • Acquire and adjust digital photography
  • Maintain specialist equipment
  • Provide advice to the CoA on specialist equipment acquisition.

Who we're looking for

  • Demonstrated ability to manage, plan and implement multiple projects/outcomes using project management skills and advanced organisational skills.
  • Ability to consult, negotiate and maintain effective relationships working independently and within a creative team environment.
  • Advanced knowledge of and experience in the administration and management of online courses within Moodle and/or ADELE or an LMS equivalent, and Objective.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Adobe CC and Microsoft Office applications for the development of training tools.

Desirable:

  • Qualifications in training and digital design
  • Portfolio of recent work
  • Ability to capture media such as images, video and audio for e-Learning
  • Ability to edit media such as images, video and audio for e-Learning
  • Experience working within a Defence training environment
  • Experience in training delivery
  • Experience in systems, data, or equipment management.
