The Opportunity

Join Boeing Defence Australia as a Quality System Specialist on the iconic E-7 Wedgetail program. As the E-7 Wedgetail quality team is growing, this key role offers the opportunity to ensure our platform meets the highest quality, safety, and regulatory standards by working closely with the wider E-7 team, suppliers, customers, and leadership.

This position is ideal for a professional with strong interpersonal skills, a proactive and systematic approach to ensuring products, services, and processes meet rigorous quality, safety, and regulatory standards, and the resilience to excel in high-pressure environments.

You will:

  • Review proposals, contracts, and regulatory requirements to ensure early quality involvement in program development.
  • Develop, maintain, and deploy quality directives, policies, processes, procedures, and metrics aligned with program, customer, regulatory, and international standards.
  • Analyse process data and metrics to identify root causes of issues and collaborate with stakeholders to implement preventive or corrective actions.
  • Conduct research and analyse performance reports and process control statistics to drive continuous process improvement.
  • Conduct audits at hardware, software, and system levels to verify compliance with quality management standards and regulatory requirements.

Required Experience

  • Minimum 3 years' experience in quality assurance or quality systems, aviation, engineering, or related field.
  • Tertiary qualification in engineering, aviation, quality, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Proven ability to perform root cause analysis, implement corrective/preventive actions, and drive continuous process improvements.
  • Analytical problem-solver with data-driven decision-making capability.
  • Lead auditor qualifications or a wiliness to obtain upon commencement.

Desirable Experience

  • Ability to read electrical schematics and engineering drawings.
  • Experience in conducting hardware, software, and system-level audits. 
  • Experience in data analysis and managing nonconformances.
  • Familiarity with quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001, AS9110) and regulatory requirements are highly desirable.
  • Previous experience in the defence sector or having worked for a defence contractor.

Australian citizenship is required, with eligibility for Defence security clearance
