The Opportunity

Boeing Defence Australia (BDA) is seeking an Aeronautical Engineer (Structures) to join the Air Combat Electronic Attack Support Contract (ACEA) team supporting electronic attack, self-protection and mission systems sustainment.

As an Aeronautical Engineer (Structures), you will:

  • Conduct continuing airworthiness management activities including response to customer inquiries, publication updates, non-conformances & failure investigation, and to show compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Develop repair/modification instructions for integration onto the existing aircraft in accordance with the approved Engineering Management System.
  • Performs basic and detailed structural study (static strength, durability/fatigue) to determine structural integrity, using classical techniques and Boeing tools.
  • Work towards gaining Engineering Authority and Delegations on the platforms you will be supporting.

Who we're looking for

  • Must hold Tertiary qualifications in Mechanical, Aeronautical, Aerospace Engineering, or a related technical degree.
  • 3-5 years' experience in aircraft structural design/repair methodologies of metallic and composite design, hand-stress analysis for preliminary sizing.
  • 3-5 years' experience in developing engineering artefacts within the Defence Aviation Safety Regulations (DASR) environment or within the equivalent CASA, EASA or EMAR systems.
  • Familiar with aviation regulatory frameworks with a good working knowledge of the Part 21, Part M (or 42) and Part 145 operations and their interactions.
