The Opportunity
Boeing Defence Australia (BDA) is seeking a EHS Specialist to join the MQ‑28 Ghost Bat Production Facility build at Wellcamp Toowoomba, QLD.

This is a rare opportunity to work on Boeing's first final assembly facility outside North America and help build a state-of-the-art site that will deliver Australia's first military-designed combat aircraft in more than 50 years and redefine how advanced aircraft are made.

In this role you will build something that matters, grow with a high-performing team, and leave a legacy in Australian defence manufacturing

As an EHS Specialist at Boeing you will:

  • Conduct regular site inspections and safety walkthroughs with site leadership, workers, contractors and others to identify hazards, unsafe acts or non‑compliances to improve project safety outcomes.
  • Deliver inductions, toolbox talks and role‑specific safety information in daily pre-start meetings, ensuring workers understand hazards, controls and emergency procedures.
  • Review and work with site leadership to maintain and uphold project compliance to safety documentation including project WHS plans, SWMS, task risk assessments, permits, plant pre-start records and safe systems of work.
  • Liaise with project stakeholders (PM, site supervisors, contractors, clients and regulators) to coordinate project safety requirements and resolve EHS issues.
  • Coordinate emergency preparedness: maintain and test emergency plans, first‑aid provisions, rescue teams and emergency drills.
  • Collect, verify and maintain records of worker competency, licenses, trade certificates and induction certificates — ensure documents are valid, stored in the competency register, update expiry reminders, and provide access reports to site management and contractors.
  • Manage plant project onboarding - ensure the required plant documents are obtained and stored IAW project processes.
  • Assist in incident reporting, investigation and the development of corrective actions.
  • Support project leadership and the Senior EHS Specialist to ensure effective WHS consultation across the project scope.
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of the construction project risk register.
  • Assist in the development of Safe Work Method Statements for high-risk construction works.
