Boeing Defence Australia (BDA) is seeking motivated, aviation‑focused Ground Crewman Mission Support (GCMS) Instructor to join our embedded training team at the Army Aviation Training Centre.  If you have a passion for helicopters, enjoy developing and delivering high‑quality training, and want to help shape the next generation of ADF Ground Crewman Mission Support (GCAS) personnel, we want to hear from you.

In a new era in Army aviation, Boeing has supported delivery of the newly delivered Apache helicopter fleet to the ADF. This role gives you the chance to work with and support training around these cutting‑edge platforms — contributing to sustainment, ground support procedures, hot/refuel operations and aircraft support doctrine as the Apache is integrated into Army aviation operations.

As a Ground Crewman Mission Instructor at Boeing you will:

  • Perform Qualified Assessor and Trade Testing Officer functions in addition to the conduct of GCMS training within the barracks environment and or field environment.
  • Review and amend courseware and handouts as required in accordance with extant policy.
  • Assist with the review and amendment of LMP as directed.
  • Assist in the review and authorisation of the sections ePEX.
  • Understand and comply with the principles of equity and diversity for the Australian.
  • Understand and comply with the requirements of the Workplace Health and Safety legislation and the Defence Safety Manual.
  • Understand and comply with Defence environmental management policy and practices to ensure the sustainable use of the environment.
  • Ensure compliance with the Operational and Technical Airworthiness regulatory framework.
  • Apply Army Aviation Risk Management philosophies to all GCMS operations.
  • Perform all duties utilising relevant contemporary Defence systems, publications and standards.

This role is based at Swartz Barracks, Oakey — you'll be embedded with customer personnel and delivering training on some of the world's most capable aviation platforms alongside Commonwealth partners.

To be considered for the role you will have:

  • CERT IV TAE 16 or higher
  • 120337 Avn GCMS CP Operator Course
  • Specialist Combat Communications Course
  • Avn GCMS CP Op CH47F
  • Avn GCMS CP Op UH60M

Desirable:

  • Trained in Defence Aviation Non-Technical Skills
  • Trained in Defence aviation and Military Risk Management
  • Airside Level 1 and 2 trained
  • AVN ARMY Tow motor licence code.

Applicants must be Australian citizens to meet Defence security requirements.
