Boeing ACEASP Maintenance Operations Manager - F/A 18F Training Flight

Location: RAAF Base Amberley, QLD

Are you an experienced aviation maintenance leader ready to step up and make an impact? Boeing Defence Australia (BDA) is seeking a First Level MRO Manager to lead one of two shifts leading the high-performing team supporting the line operations and sustainment maintenance operations for the F/A-18F Super Hornet program Training Flight.

This opportunity places you at the heart of one of Australia's most advanced military aviation programs — where your leadership will directly support mission-ready aircraft, safety excellence, and operational availability.

About the Role

You will:

  • Lead a multidisciplinary maintenance and support team delivering serviceable jets on the flight line to meet the required flying program while supporting the scheduled and emergent line maintenance activities.
  • Manage day-to-day operations to ensure safe, compliant, and efficient MRO execution in accordance with approved procedures and technical data.
  • Provide leadership, guidance, and mentoring to technicians and engineers, promoting a culture of first-time quality, safety, and accountability.
  • Coordinate closely with maintenance planning, fleet management, engineering, and supply chain to achieve schedule performance and resource efficiency across both RAAF and Boeing entities.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and process standardisation across maintenance operations.
  • Represent BDA to customer stakeholders, fostering trusted relationships and ensuring program objectives are met.

About You

You're an established maintenance or production leader who thrives in a fast-paced operational environment. You bring:

  • Demonstrated experience in aircraft maintenance management or production leadership (ADF, Defence industry, or civil MRO).
  • A strong understanding of regulatory frameworks (e.g., DASR Part 145, AS9110, CASA or equivalent).
  • Proven ability to manage people, performance, and priorities in a safety-critical environment.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • A proactive approach to quality, safety, and continuous improvement,
  • A willingness to work a rotating shift pattern (two weeks earlies, two weeks late)
  • Ideally have a familiarity in the maintenance schedule of the Super Hornet.
  • An ability to hold an Australian Defence Security Clearance (NV1).

Why Join Us

At Boeing Defence Australia, you'll join a team committed to supporting Australia's air combat capability through innovation, professionalism, and collaboration.

This assignment offers the chance to:

  • Contribute directly to operational readiness of Australia's F/A-18F fleet.
  • Gain valuable leadership experience within a world-class defence aviation environment.
  • Work with a team that values integrity, teamwork, and excellence in every task.
