The opportunity

Boeing Defence Australia is looking to recruit a Subject Matter Expert (SME) to support the E-7 Australia Airborne Early Warning & Control (AEW&C) Wedgetail aircraft. This role is based in Brisbane but is flexible and can be based in Adelaide or Williamtown.

Responsibilities

AEW&C SME responsibilities will include:

  • Developing and reviewing critical and routine technical publication change tasks for the AEW&C Australian customer
  • Communicating clear instructions for incorporation of technical publication tasks ensuring cost, schedule and quality targets are met; and
  • Working closely with AEW&C Coordinators and Execution Lead to ensure timely and accurate completion of tasks to achieve project revision deliveries.

Essential Experience/Qualifications

  • Certificate IV in Aeroskills (we are interested in various trade backgrounds, Avionics, Radar, Mechanical) or similar qualification
  • The ability to evaluate technical source data and specifications
  • The ability to communicate with technical personnel from multiple skill areas and functions to evaluate technical information and issues impacting design, production, and support of products, services, or other deliverables
  • The ability to analyse problems (troubleshooting, fault isolation, repair, modification, or redesign) of assigned end items to support the design, development and modification of company products using knowledge of engineering disciplines
  • Eligibility for an Australian Government Security Vetting Agency (AGSVA) Defence Security Clearance
  • Current Australian Citizenship.

Desirable Experience/Qualifications

  • Experience in maintenance and or operations of Boeing 737 or AEW&C aircraft would be highly regarded
  • Experience in authoring technical publications
  • Technical knowledge of military systems.
