Position Overview

We are seeking a Product Support Manager to lead our Product Support Capability. This role involves integrating a team of Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) professionals and practitioners to develop, deliver, and maintain Product Technical and Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) products and services. You will coordinate customer Product Support requests and responses while ensuring the highest standards of quality and efficiency.

The Product Support Manager, in collaboration with engineering and maintenance governance representatives, will develop and maintain Insitu Pacific ILS products and services.

 Key Responsibilities

  • Lead an integrated team of Product Support professionals and practitioners supporting internal and external customers.
  • Coordinate ILS tasking prioritisation balancing stakeholder, contractual and strategic priorities.
  • Directly interact with technical staff from key strategic customers including Defence customers from the Asia Pacific region.
  • Coordinate, prioritise and execute in service support ILS activities.
  • Perform requirements analysis and review in response to both internal and external customer needs.
  • Manage appropriate procurement of tools and software licenses required by the Product Support team.
  • Analyse and resolve customer support issues for existing fielded products.
  • Perform ILS aspects of technical project planning, estimating, execution, control and reporting as required.
  • Assist with the development and execution of Product Support and technical elements of internal business cases and external customer proposals.
  • Provide representation for customer In-Service Support, and Continuing Airworthiness Management stakeholder audits and reviews.
  • Coordinate identification, development and continuous improvement of Product Support Capability IPQMS processes.
  • Establish, collect, analyse, report and continuously improve Product Support Capability performance measures.

Qualifications

Essential

  • Degree in systems, electrical, electronic, communications, computer engineering, aerospace or related discipline, with demonstrable experience in ILS planning and execution.
  • Understanding of key Systems Engineering, Product Support, ILS, Continuing Airworthiness principles and requirements
  • Demonstration of understanding of methods for running a technical project (e.g. scrum/agile methodology, project engineering methodology, systems engineering methodology, Kanban, other contemporary methods).
  • Demonstrated ability to plan, report, meet schedule milestones and assure successful outcomes on engineering development projects, ideally including direction and oversight of technical staff.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead a team of professionals and management principals

Desirable

  • Experience working in a Sustainment Program Office (SPO) within the Australian Department of Defence.
  • Experience working in a sustainment role for a Defence contractor in the ADF context.
  • Specific experience and advanced expertise in the unmanned systems domain.
  • Demonstrated experience in one or more of the following logistics engineering areas: Logistics Support Analysis (LSA), Maintenance Requirements Determination (MRD), Level of Repair Analysis (LORA), Reliability Centred Maintenance (RCM), Life-Cycle Cost (LCC) analysis and/or related ILS processes.
  • Demonstrated experience with first article inspections, production acceptance testing, non-conforming material review, and other material management quality processes.
  • Demonstrated experience with other engineering design, prototyping, drawing, analysis and test tools.
  • Advanced knowledge of engineering lifecycle, development methodologies, and rapid prototyping methodologies.
  • Demonstrated experience with engineering operations in the customer's environment.

  • Able to obtain an Australian Defence Security Clearance
