The Opportunity

The Boeing MQ-28 - Ghost Bat is a globally-significant program that will deliver a disruptive advantage to support Defence operational capabilities. Developed in partnership with the Royal Australian Air Force, it is the first military combat aircraft to be designed, manufactured and assembled in Australia in 50 years. MQ-28 is looking for a Digital Systems and Process Engineer to support and enhance the digital thread solutions for the program and to apply process improvements across the value stream. 

As a Digital Systems and Process Engineer you will:

  • Apply industry standard analysis methods and techniques to improve and optimize solutions for complex engineering, manufacturing and product support processes throughout the value stream.
  • Develop and deploy new or revised processes in support of new digital systems, including documentation and training.
  • Support and enhance Modelling and Simulation activities
  • Support the development of system integration strategies and architectures that promote use of common tools and processes
  • Facilitate integration of new technologies and the transition from legacy systems to support business requirements

To be considered for the role you will have:

Essential:

  • Strong understanding of the product lifecycle.
  • Proven aptitude to learn, and ability to proficiently use engineering tools.
  • Genuine interest in working across all program functions — engineering, production, quality, program management and product support.
  • Continuous‑improvement and problem-solving mindset with a focus on optimizing processes and outcomes.

Desirable

  • Strong hands-on experience with a number of engineering tools such as PLM (3DX, Teamcenter), CAD (CATIA, NX), FEM (Ansys, Nastran/Patran), Systems Engineering (MSOSA, DOORS), Other (Matlab, Gitlab, Python).
  • Demonstrated ability to automate tasks through scripting.
  • Demonstrated ability to work across the entire value stream, from concept through delivery.
