The Opportunity 

We are seeking an Aviation Non-Destructive Testing Technician - Level 2. The role is based at RAAF Base Amberley, Queensland and will support a diverse team on exciting and rewarding programs.

 

Your role:   

  • Conduct NDT inspections on aircraft, components and ground support equipment
  • Produce NDT reports to document all inspections findings to aid in engineering decisions
  • Ensuring all maintenance tasks carried out are IAW the applicable Maintenance Organisation Exposition (MOE) and certified in the maintenance documentation
  • Contribute to improvements in the performance of the team
  • Promoting a safe and healthy work environment by ensuring compliance with EH&S policies and procedures
  • Liaise with 21J Design Organisation and Continuing Airworthiness Management Organisation in relation to repair design and incorporation
  • Be flexible with regard to working off-site

 

Skills and Experience: 

  • Evidence of NDT training hours as per EN4179/NAS410 (Level 2 PT, MT, ET, UT and RT)
  • NDT work experience log, detailing the required work experience hours as per EN4179/NAS410 (Level 2 PT, MT, ET, UT and RT)
  • Evidence of NDT general, specific and practical examinations as per EN4179/NAS410 (Level 2 PT, MT, ET, UT and RT)
  • Be able to demonstrate an understanding of Quality Assurance (QA) procedures
  • Hold or be able to obtain a Defence Security Clearance of Negative Vetting 1
  • Meet the security requirements of the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR)
  • Be able to demonstrate a good knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety procedures
  • Hold a C class driver's license

 

Desirable Criteria: 

  • Elevated Work Platform TLILIC2005A or equivalent
  • Work Safely at Heights RIIOHS204A or equivalent
  • Confined Space training
