The Opportunity -

The AH-64E Apache is the world's most advanced and proven attack helicopter. It integrates innovative technologies to aid the crew in decision making, offering a new level of battlefield dominance through enhanced performance, increased situational awareness, superior survivability, and improved target detection, acquisition and engagement.

We are recruiting personnel for Wash Support roles who will join the AH-64E Apache

helicopter program.  The Australian Apaches will join the growing global fleet of more than 1280 aircraft operating in 18 countries, including coalition and regional partners.

This role is based in Townsville working alongside the Army customer.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate and maintain Helicopter Wash Facilities (HWF) in accordance with local unit policies and procedures.
  • Manage consumables and stores: ordering, stock control, and ensuring availability for all aircraft wash tasks.
  • Conduct Special Servicing tasks as part of aircraft wash duties on 1 Avn Regt aircraft, PPA and associated equipment as directed.
  • Support post-deployment wash and preparation for Department of Agriculture, Water and the Environment (DAWE) inspections on aircraft, PPA and equipment.
  • Carry out periodic checks and audits of all tool boards and facility tooling within the HWF.
  • Be an integral part of the Apache capability, supporting aircraft availability and fleet readiness.
  • Promote a safe and healthy work environment by ensuring compliance with OHS/WHS policies and procedures.
  • Monitor Work Health and Safety in the Helicopter Wash Facility (HWF) and raise associated safety incident reports as required.

This role is expected to commence in February 2026. 

About you

To be considered in this role you will have:

  • Contemporary aviation experience is essential.
  • Apache Familiarisation Course (CoA provided).
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team and maintain productive working relationships.
  • Working knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety procedures and demonstrated commitment to safety.
  • Sound knowledge of aircraft and aeronautical product maintenance, modification and planning documentation.
  • Working at Heights qualification.
