The opportunity

The Boeing MQ-28 Ghost Bat is a globally significant program that will deliver a disruptive advantage to support Defence operational capabilities.  As we continue to accelerate the development program and expand the aircraft flight envelope through the test program, we are seeking the very best talent from a diverse range of backgrounds to help grow and contribute to our innovative team. 

Boeing Defence Australia (BDA) are seeking an Integrated Product Support (IPS) Manager to join our MQ-28 Operations and Test team. This role will report to the MQ-28 In-Service Engineering Manager and ensure delivery of engineering support services across the program. The ideal candidate will be an excellent communicator, capable of motivating a diverse and geographically dispersed team in a dynamic environment. 

Responsibilities

The IPS Manager is responsible for leading and the development and integration of the support approach and plans for the execution of and development of MQ-28 product support strategy (PSS) during system operations and sustainment over the life cycle. 

They will also be responsible for integrating and evaluating support elements to development program proposals, developing performance metrics and monitoring adherence to program plans and schedules. This role additionally involves the formulation and execution of business plans, policies, and procedures, as well as the development of organisational and technical strategies to enhance operational efficiency. 

Responsibilities will include: 

  1. Enhance the overall effectiveness and efficiency of all 12 integrated product support (IPS) elements and services through all phases of platform life cycle.
  2. Ensure that the necessary support elements (5 Support System Constituent Capabilities) are in place to sustain the product's operational capability, address issues and changes, and meet the user's needs throughout its life cycle.
  3. Provision of accurate IPS task estimates for resourcing effort required for existing work packages and new (including Request for Tender responses and Survey &Quote tasks), regular forecast revisions and Estimate to Complete.
  4. Lead a Product Support Integrated Product Team (IPT) in execution of program priorities.

Desirable Experience/Qualifications

To be successful you will have:

  • Associate Diploma or equivalent technical qualifications in a relevant IPS technical discipline.
  • A minimum of 10 years' experience in the relevant technical discipline. Defence industry experience would be preferred, Defence Contracting (ASDEFCON) - Support highly regarded.
  • Previous experience coordinating and collaborating with multiple stakeholders including commonwealth customers, on technical issues.
  • Experience interfacing with Australian Defence Force personnel.
  • Experience in leading, managing and developing teams across multiple projects.
  • Experience in liaison and negotiation with multiple internal stakeholders and prioritisation of team tasking
  • Demonstrated experience in driving the delivery of multiple outcomes on time and within budget.
  • Applicants must be an Australian Citizen and hold, or have ability to obtain, an Australian Defence security clearance to Negative Vetting level 1. 

This role is based in Brisbane or Amberley
