The opportunity                                                                                                                                            

Join Boeing Defence Australia as an Equipment Tooling Maintenance Specialist at our new production facility at Wellcamp Airport, Toowoomba. This role requires strong project management skills, technical expertise, and a deep understanding of Manufacturing / production processes. The Facility Tooling Maintenance Lead will ensure that the facility, and associated assets, are maintained to the highest standards, meet regulatory requirements, and support efficient and safe production operations whilst minimizing production downtime. Reporting to the Facility & Production Tooling Manager, this individual will be a trusted self-starter that can operate autonomously in a matrix environment. You will be the key point of contact and engage with local site management, service providers and contractors whilst working with local teams to ensure a safe and compliant work environment is provided to our employees. You will have the skills, knowledge, and understanding to develop the required scope of works, along with the ability to develop relationships with suppliers and business stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in Developing and implementing facility management strategies to optimize production operations and ensure a safe and efficient working environment.
    • Oversee and carry out the maintenance, repair, and modifications of all production facilities / Equipment, including assembly areas, storage facilities, and support infrastructure.
    • Coordinate with internal stakeholders, such as Production Leads and engineering teams, to identify facility needs and implement necessary changes or upgrades.
    • Monitor equipment performance and implement corrective actions to address any issues or inefficiencies.
  • Conduct regular safety inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and implement corrective measures.
    • Collaborate with the safety and compliance teams to ensure adherence to all relevant aviation regulations, industry standards, and company policies.
    • knowledge in implementing and development of condition and reliability-based maintenance programs
    • Provides guidance to less experienced employees. Provides training to peers and/or customers on the use of equipment.

Experience/Qualifications

  • 3+ years' experience working in a fast paced manufacturing environment.
  • Strong general maintenance knowledge and understanding of preventative maintenance and asset management strategies
    • Experience working in a large matrix organization
    • Strong knowledge of manufacturing production processes, regulations, and safety standards (desirable)
      • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
      • Experience dealing with senior stakeholders and translating operational requirements into actionable deliverables
      • Experience with managing and coordinating site operations as it pertains to local laws and company policies and procedures
        • Strong relationship building and stakeholder management skills
        • Project Management experience/qualifications (desirable)
        • knowledge in Total Productive Maintenance (TPM)
          • Previous work experience in data analysis on an asset management system required (Maximo & Cognos preferable)
          • Ability to manage multiple projects and allocate resources effectively and efficiently
