The Opportunity

We are seeking a talented EHS Execution Lead to join the Sustainment Operations EHS team.  The role is based in Amberley, however, some travel to other Sustainment Operations Program sites will be required. This role will suit experienced EHS professionals looking to take on leadership and planning responsibilities.

The Sustainment Operations EHS Execution Lead is responsible for supporting the tactical implementation, maintenance and continual improvement of the Boeing EHS Management System within the various programs that make up the Sustainment Operations Business.  Working in accordance with the strategic overview provided by the EHS Operations Manager, the EHS Execution Lead will oversee the development, planning, and implementation of environmental health and safety programs and processes across the Sustainment Operations Business ensuring regulatory compliance and the maintenance of a safe and healthy work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Supporting the implementation of EHS policies, procedures and processes across the Sustainment Operations business unit
  • Developing and maintaining relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, business partners and team members
  • Coordinating EHS execution plans at program/business unit level
  • Providing technical oversight and coordination of technical approaches, products and processes and provide technical expertise to team members on complex EHS matters
  • Conducting education and training to support regulatory and business requirements
  • Providing input to EHS team members professional development and performance management and appraisal and assisting the EHS Operations Manager with recruitment and resource forecasting
  • Evaluating the impact and providing advice on new regulations and the likely impact to enterprise operations
  • Identifying, managing and where necessary escalating program and business level risks and opportunities
  • Providing direct program EHS support in times of staff absence
  • Coaching and mentoring junior team members within the Sustainment Operations EHS team
  • Reporting on all aspects of EHS performance to relevant stakeholders including the customer, program and/or business leadership and the EHS Operations Manager

Qualifications and Experience

Essential

  • Tertiary qualification in Health, safety and Environment with at least 10 years of EHS experience in an operational environment or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform with minimal direction and the ability to exercise considerable latitude in determining objectives and approaches to assignment.
  • Thorough knowledge of Australian WHS and Environmental laws, regulations and reporting requirements.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and application of the ISO 14001 and 45001 standards.
  • Strong time management skills with the ability to manage conflicting priorities and meet target dates in a very fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated experience working within a highly regulated environment; and
  • Ability to meet Defence Security and ITAR requirements.

Desirable

  • Working knowledge or familiarity with Defence/Aerospace Industry.
  • Experience working in complex manufacturing or high hazard facilities.
