The opportunity
We are seeking an Industry Development Specialist. In this role, you will deliver Boeing Defence Australia's Capability Uplift Program and work to continuously improve our supplier diversity and development programs working closely with Australian industry and our partners. The role resides in our Supply Chain Excellence team within the Supply Chain Management capability. You will report directly to the Manager, Governance and Industry and work closely with the Strategy and Industry Stream Lead. The successful candidate responsibilities will include:
- Deliver the award-winning Capability Uplift Program (see below for more information) while working to develop new ideas to mature the program over time. This role includes extensive stakeholder engagement both with internal and external stakeholders, delivering a range of short-term and long-term initiatives, as well as being responsible for planning and organising events, networking, logistics, budget management, and communications.
- In addition to the Capability Uplift Program, the Industry Engagement Specialist will shape the future Supply Chain Management industry development plan to achieve BDA's supplier diversity and development objectives and ensure continuous alignment with Australian Government industrial priorities. This will involve working in collaboration with other internal functions, senior executives and supporting the development of artefacts.
- Lead the continuous improvement of Supply Chain Management's approach to supplier diversity and development. This includes internal policy development, training and raising awareness across the business. Also, lead the development, planning and delivery of specific initiatives to engage Australia's small and medium businesses, and Indigenous-owned, veteran-owned, and women-owned businesses.
- Conduct ongoing reporting to support senior executives, budget management and business planning.
- Support and/or attend events and tradeshows, including travel in support of the Capability Uplift Program.
- Where required, perform other activities in support of the Supply Chain Excellence team.
About the Capability Uplift Program: Starting in 2022, the Capability Uplift Program is an annual initiative led by BDA in partnership with our strategic partners from the Department of Defence and the Queensland Government. The Capability Uplift Program brings together a cohort of small and medium businesses from across Australia aligned to Boeing capability priorities and support developing their defence readiness and maturity.
