Joining us is a chance to make your mark, working with a diverse team that is united in pushing the boundaries of imagination and excellence.
We currently employ more than 2,000 people across 14 sites in Australia and three international locations and have a range of opportunities available as we plan for future growth.
The opportunity
We are seeking an Industry Capability Specialist to join our Supply Chain Excellence team within the BDA Supply Chain Management (SCM) capability. In this role, you will play a key part in supporting BDA's Australian Industry Capability (AIC) Program deliverables across various programs in service with the Australian Defence Force. You will report to the Manager, Governance and Industry and work closely with the SCM Strategy and Industry Stream Lead.
- This role offers a unique career pathway for a junior team member where you will work with limited supervision as a subject matter expert in supporting BDA's AIC Program. You will contribute to work across multiple programs, including MQ-28 Ghost Bat, E-7A Wedgetail, Battlespace Communications System and Sustainment Operations.
- Being a small, specialised team, you will be self-driven, flexible, and able to work effectively across multiple priorities. We are seeking demonstrated capabilities and experience in contracts, finance, supply chain and/or policy implementation, or demonstrated skills and experience to perform the role and support Strategy & Industry Stream priorities and BDA's AIC Program. BDA will provide extensive training, and as an employee Benefit, you will be eligible for Study assistance.
- The role includes:
- Being a subject matter expert in support of BDA's AIC requirements set in the Australian Standard for Defence Contracting (ASDEFCON) suite, Defence industry policies, and relevant government legislation and guidance.
- Develop and produce comprehensive AIC plans that comply with contract requirements, as well as driving AIC initiatives and objectives in support of developing the sovereign industrial base and supporting the Australian Government's strategic industrial priorities. This involves ongoing assurance of BDA's AIC Programs, maintaining alignment with legislation, complex contracts, and Australian Government policies.
- To meet Australian Contract Expenditure (ACE) tracking and reporting, you are experienced in collecting, organising and analysing multiple financial datasets in accordance with contract requirements and business needs, and reporting guidelines and rules. You will need to demonstrate your advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience in financial reporting within a contractual framework, including data interpretation, analysis, reporting, and assurance. Alternatively, address how you could contribute to BDA's contracted ACE reporting.
- Contribute to the Strategy & Industry Stream, including supporting industry engagement initiatives and supplier diversity priorities.
To be successful you will have:
- Addressed the role in your resume and/or cover letter, including how you are best suited to contribute to the team.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a team and build collaborative and positive relationships with a range of stakeholders.
- Demonstrated strong written and verbal communication skills, including proficiency in presenting and writing reports (business sector experience is desirable). Able to effectively engage with a diverse range of stakeholders and adapt communication styles to meet their specific needs.
- It is desirable that the applicant has experience working within a legislative framework, Australian Government policies and guidelines, and/or complex commercial contracts and/or Defence procurement experience is desirable.
- It is desirable that the applicant has tertiary education in commerce, finance, law, business, management or supply chain management.
- Applicants must be Australian Citizens to meet Defence security requirements with the ability to obtain and maintain an Australian Government security clearance at Baseline as a minimum.
