The opportunity

We are seeking a motivated Subcontracts Specialist to join our E7-A  Sustainment Team to support several key sub-contracts.  The successful candidate will work closely with a range of stakeholders to support complex supply chain requirements for the sustainment of the Wedgetail program.

Responsibilities:

In supporting the E7-A program, you will be required to:

  • Engage with internal stakeholders;
  • Maintain currency of existing subcontracts including negotiating and implementing complex subcontract variations
  • Manage existing subcontracts and promote subcontractor collaboration to ensure on time performance and compliance;
  • Develop practical and efficient solutions to complex procurement and subcontracts issues;
  • Identify and develop appropriate sourcing strategies and approaches to market for goods and services, including software, and engineering services;
  • Prepare, negotiate and execute contract documentation in accordance with delegations of authority;
  • Manage subcontractor invoicing compliance and reporting
  • Participate in risk identification and mitigation planning; and
  • Ensure compliance with supply chain management corporate governance policies and procedures.

Experience/Qualifications

The right applicant will have a combination of the following competencies:

  • Three (3) to five (5) years' work experience in contracts management or procurement;
  • Relevant Bachelor's degree in law, business or commerce (desirable);
  • Effective written and verbal communications skills;
  • Good working knowledge of the responsibilities and tasks performed across contracting and procurement and their interdependencies with other departments and disciplines (for example, engineering, logistics, finance); and
  • A willingness to work in a team environment.
