The opportunity

Boeing is building the MQ-28 Ghost Bat—a next-generation autonomous drone—and we need Supplier Quality Specialists to ensure our supply chain delivers excellence. This role will work out of Boeing Aerostructures Australia facility situated in Port Melbourne reporting to the Supplier Quality Manager (Brisbane) working closely with the MQ-28 Quality and Production Leadership situated at various location in Australia. You will be expected to work under their general direction to independently determine and develop approaches to solve complex and challenging problems and deliver solutions that are imaginative, thorough, practicable, and consistent with organisation objectives and Quality Management System standards and processes.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Plans and conducts audits and assessments of supplier's systems, processes and products.
  • Documents and reports audit and assessment results. Inspects or verifies products for compliance with requirements.
  • Assists with assessments of supplier capability and capacity to perform current or potential future work.
  • Provides supplier education and coaching on quality systems, regulatory compliance issues and company initiatives.
  • Resolves routine issues and concerns in the supplier Quality space.
  • Play a key role in delivering the MQ-28 Ghost Bat to operational readiness 

Basic Qualification and Experience

  • Experience working in Quality, Supplier Quality or Supplier Management
  • Experience with Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) processes and implementing corrective actions
  • Experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings and blueprints
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Power Point) 

Technical Competencies

  • Knowledge of assembly and production processes, manufacturing capabilities (e.g., composites, structures, Harness etc.), and data needed for defining delivery configurations (e.g., design definition, program directives, engineering drawings, change memos, wiring diagrams and schematics, functional tests, supplier data). Ability to differentiate production (manufacturing) processes and requirements from in-service procedures and requirements.
  • Knowledge of suppliers' capabilities to support Boeing production includes, but are not limited to production, technical, service and design management. Also included are knowledge of business systems, organizational structure, manufacturing processes, risk mitigation, capacity planning, past/present delivery performance, design definition, program directives, engineering drawings, change memos, wiring diagrams and schematics, functional tests, and supplier data.
  • Knowledge of responsibilities and tasks performed by various procurement departments/disciplines. Knowledge of the interactions between departments/disciplines and how their products/processes affect one another and impact non-Procurement processes (e.g., Engineering, Business, Operations, Logistics).
  • Knowledge of drawing/data systems (e.g., ""used on"" drawings, part relationships, product data management) and configuration management principles and processes (e.g., part number control, revision level, naming conventions, product identification numbering systems)

🔹 Be an Australian Citizenship to ensure you have the ability to obtain and maintain an Australian Department of Defence clearance up to NV1 level.
