The Opportunity -

The Boeing MQ-28 Ghost Bat is a globally-significant program that will deliver a disruptive advantage to support Defence operational capabilities.

As we continue to accelerate the development program, and expand the aircraft flight envelope through the test program, we are seeking the very best talent from a diverse range of backgrounds to help grow and contribute to our innovative team.

Boeing Defence Australia (BDA) are looking for a Test Engineer to join the MQ-28 Integrated Test Team and realise new capabilities through design development, testing and support of the air vehicle and related test equipment.

This role is based at RAAF Base Amberley, Brisbane.

As a Test Engineer within BDA, you will:

  • Actively contribute to the development of a cutting-edge capability through exposure to all facets of the product lifecycle.
  • Participate in gathering and analyzing requirements for test measurement systems.
  • Development test procedures for ground test activities.
  • Conduct ground test activities for new and modified aircraft.
  • Maintain test logs, prepare test reports and archive data.
  • Assist with the development of aircraft instrumentation design, implementation, configuration and operation.
  • Assist with the development, operation and maintenance of test tools and systems.
  • Perform data analysis, develop and utilise data processing tools.
  • Use analytical tools to perform data analysis and construct justifications to verify the design.
  • Under supervision, participate in safety and mission critical aircraft ground and flight test conduct.
  • Periodically travel to remote test sites to support operations
  • Collaborate with other teams and interpret data to develop the system capability
  • Test and validate designs to ensure the system meets operational and functional requirements

About you

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • A focus on innovative problem solving whilst maintaining safety and quality standards
  • Tertiary qualification in engineering is mandatory, preferably in electrical, avionics, mechatronics or similar.
  • RPEQ &/or CPEng is desirable.
  • Experience with air vehicle system level testing is desirable.
  • Ability to obtain an NV1 security clearance.
