The Opportunity

We are currently seeking a Ground Support Equipment (GSE) Technician to join our Maintenance Repair and Overhaul (MRO) Services team.

The role will be attached to the E7A Wedgetail Deeper level Ground Support section at RAAF Base Amberley.

Primary duties will include the management of maintenance activities relating to Class 1 and Class 2 GSE and servicing / calibration of ST&E.

 

Responsibilities

  • Build GSE maintenance experience with the intent of establishing the role as an expert/Subject Matter Expert (SME) on AEW&C specific GSE.
  • Ensure all ST&E is maintained and calibrated to schedule laid out in Technical Maintenance Plan.
  • Ensure Record of ST&E calibration and maintenance is maintained and recorded.
  • Identify and where possible correct maintenance shortfalls, and when outside your level of competency report to your superiors whilst offering solutions.

 

Key Relationships

  • Reports to E7A Maintenance manager.
  • BDA Warehouse and S&TE staff.
  • Maintains a close working relationship with E7A maintenance team and other stakeholders.

 

Experience/Qualifications

  • Knowledge of, and commitment to workplace safety.
  • Highly organised, task oriented, self-starter that demonstrates a high degree of initiative and requires minimal supervision.
  • Must meet the security requirements of the International Traffic in Arms Regulations agreement.
  • Minimum NV1 Security Clearance or able to obtain NV1 Security Clearance as per Australian Department of Defence requirements.
  • Applicants must be Australian Citizens to meet Defence security requirements.

 

Desirable Criteria

  • Knowledge of Defense related GSE and AT&E.
  • Strong computer skills and data base management.
