The Opportunity

Boeing Defence Australia is looking to secure an AEW&C Publication Subject Matter Expert (SME) in mission and communication equipment maintenance. This role will support E-7 AEW&C international programs, which provide world class airborne surveillance, communications and battle management systems.

Responsibilities

AEW&C Mission Computing SME responsibilities will include:

  • Utilising significant mission computer and communication system maintenance experience, liaise with customer (Defence force) technicians and engineering personnel for the development and update of associated maintenance manuals.
  • Reviewing and assigning critical and routine technical publication revision tasks for AEW&C international customers.
  • Communicating clear instructions for incorporation of technical publication tasks to ensure cost, schedule and quality targets are met; and
  • Working closely with AEW&C international Coordinators and Execution Leads to ensure timely and accurate completion of tasks to achieve project revision deliveries.

Experience/Qualifications

  • Certificate IV in Aeroskills (Avionics)
  • Experience in the maintenance of mission computing and/or communication equipment for ground based systems or for AEW&Caircraft or equivalent platforms would be highly regarded.
  • The ability to evaluate technical source data and specifications.
  • Experience in authoring technical publications.
  • The ability to communicate with maintenance and engineering personnel from multiple skill areas and functions to evaluate information and issues impacting the operations, employment and management of mission computing / communication systems.
  • The ability to interpret mission system maintenance interfaces and liaise with customers and stakeholders to ensure alignment with maintenance manuals and training requirements.
  • Eligibility for an Australian Government Security Vetting Agency (AGSVA) Defence Security Clearance
  • Current Australian Citizenship
  • Specialist technical knowledge of military systems.
