The Opportunity

Maintenance Repair and Overhaul (MRO) Services team are seeking an experienced Aviation Maintenance (145 / MRO) Professional to support a world class rotary-wing platform as an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer - Mechanical. This role is based at RAAF Base Townsville in tropical North Queensland and supports the Chinook Integrated Support Services Program. 

Working side by side with our Australian Defence Force Customer, you will play a vital role in the maintenance of Boeing CH-47F Chinook mechanical, airframe and engine systems and associated equipment.

 

Responsibilities

As an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (AME), you'll conduct and supervise the maintenance, modification, and troubleshooting of aircraft systems, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. Your work will ensure that the Chinook fleet remains operational and ready for critical missions. You'll perform various maintenance activities, certify work, and mentor junior technicians, helping to build a skilled workforce in a challenging and rewarding environment.

 

Experience/Qualifications

  • Cert IV in Aeroskills (Mechanical) and a DASR Part 66 Military Aircraft Maintenance Licence (MAML) - Category B1.3, preferably with CH47F Type Rating.
  • Proven knowledge of Aviation Quality Assurance (QA) procedures and the DASR 145 Aircraft Maintenance Regulatory Framework.
  • Previous experience as a maintenance certifier / trade supervisor (E62 Exclusion removed), with strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to successfully interact with co-workers, maintaining productive working relationships to meet team, business unit and organisational goals.
  • Be able to demonstrate a good knowledge of Environment, Health and Safety procedures; along with experience in computer-based maintenance management systems.

 

Security Clearance

Candidates must successfully undergo the vetting process for a Government security clearance (Negative Vetting 1) sponsored by BDA. This requires full disclosure of relevant information and the ability to verify your background from birth to present.
