If so, Boeing Defence Australia is seeking your expression of interest for the role of Ground Crewman Aircraft Support (GCAS) Instructor. The position is based at the Army Aviation Training Centre and in accordance with the ADFs regulatory requirements, you'll be involved in the development and delivery of training for the next generation of ADF GCAS personnel.

In partnership with the ADF and the Commonwealth, Boeing Defence Australia (BDA) provides aircraft maintenance and upgrades, component maintenance solutions, technical support, mission-critical infrastructure support and training on some of the most capable surveillance, command, control, and combat platforms in the world.

The Opportunity -

Team members work as an imbedded workforce to support the customers personnel training requirements. This role offers an exciting and unique opportunity whereby we as a customer focused team:

  • The GCAS instructor is responsible for the delivery of LMP training material at the School of Army Aviation, including the training and assessment of IETs.
  • Perform all duties utilising relevant contemporary Defence systems, publications and standards.
  • The GCAS Instructor shall be responsive to the Army Aviation Training Centre, subject to any International Traffic in Arms or Intellectual Property constrains.

The role is based at based Swartz Barracks, Oakey, QLD.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform Qualified Assessor and Trade Testing Officer functions in addition to the conduct of GCAS training within the barracks environment and or field environment.
  • Review and amend courseware and handouts as required in accordance with extant policy.
  • Assist with the review and amendment of LMP as directed.
  • Assist in the review and authorisation of the sections ePEX.
  • Understand and comply with the principles of equity and diversity for the Australian.
  • Understand and comply with the requirements of the Workplace Health and Safety legislation and the Defence Safety Manual.
  • Understand and comply with Defence environmental management policy and practices to ensure sustainable use of the environment.
  • Ensure compliance with the Operational and Technical Airworthiness regulatory framework.
  • Apply Army Aviation Risk Management philosophies to all GCAS operations.
  • Perform all duties utilising relevant contemporary Defence systems, publications and standards.

To be considered for the role you will have:

  • CERT IV TAE 16 or higher
  • Joint Fuels Inventory Management System (JFIMS) 209700
  • CHEM ALERT 1 - 6 (212563 About Risk, 212564 Simple Search, 212565 Advanced Search, 212566 Product Details, 212567 Stock Holding, 212568 Stock Register)
  • Hazardous Chemicals Awareness 212980
  • Hot Refuel Supervisor 214607 (after 12 months in trade)
  • AVN FARP Operator 120339 (P104089).

Desirable:

  • Trained in Defence Aviation Non-Technical Skills
  • Trained in Defence aviation and Military Risk Management
  • Airside Level 1 and 2 trained
  • AVN ARMY Tow motor licence code.

Must be an Australian Citizen and be able to obtain a security clearance to Negative Vetting 1 level, as per Department of Defence requirements.
