The eJournal Technical Lead is responsible for the development, delivery, improvement and overall lifecycle management of the eJournal system. This position also has a leadership/management aspect for the coordination and allocation of eJournal related tasks. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the ADF eJournal system, Defence aviation technical training and the related Defence Aviation Safety Regulations (DASR).

In partnership with the ADF and the Commonwealth, Boeing Defence Australia (BDA) provides aircraft maintenance and upgrades, component maintenance solutions, technical support, mission-critical infrastructure support and training on some of the most capable surveillance, command, control, and combat platforms in the world.

The Opportunity -

Team members work as an imbedded workforce to support the customers personnel training requirements. This role offers an exciting and unique opportunity whereby we as a customer focused team:

  • The Technical Lead will respond to the needs of the regulatory framework and the requirements of key stakeholders in order to set and establish priorities for system change, system maintenance, system innovation, and the training of supervisors and users.
  • The Technical Lead will coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure future system development is aligned with Army Aviation and broader Defence needs and requirements.
  • The eJournal Technical Lead shall be responsive to the Army Aviation Training Centre, subject to any International Traffic in Arms or Intellectual Property constrains.

The role is based at based Swartz Barracks, Oakey, QLD.

To be considered for the role you will have:

  • Contemporary experience and knowledge of the eJournal system and the process it digitises
  • Experience working within and knowledge of the related DASRs
  • Demonstrated experience converting business requirements into functional and technical requirements
  • Experience managing the development and deployment process of a web-based application
  • Experience in planning and managing technical project requirements
  • Experience acting as a coordinator within the Service Integration and Management Model Change Management process on the Defence Protected Environment (DPE)
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
  • At least 5+ years' experience with C# applied in an MVC web-based application
  • Proven experience as a software developer
  • Experience within the Defence aviation training environment
  • Knowledge and experience with Competency Based Training and Assessment

Desirable:

  • Experience or knowledge of developing quality management systems for software applications
  • Experience leading and managing a small technical team
  • Defence or Defence Industry Experience
  • TAE16 or related qualification
  • Located within Southeast Queensland.

Must be an Australian Citizen and be able to obtain a security clearance to Negative Vetting 1 level, as per Department of Defence requirements.
