Love helicopters? Keen to pass on your trade to the next generation of ADF maintainers? Boeing Defence Australia is after a Maintenance Instructor / Assessor B2 (Avionics) to join the CH-47F Maintenance Training Team at the Army Aviation Training Centre, Swartz Barracks, Oakey, QLD.

This is a hands-on role delivering CH-47F academic, practical and on‑the‑job training so new technicians walk away job-ready, confident and competent — all to Defence regulatory standards.

What you'll be doing:

  • Deliver CH-47F B2 avionics training (theory and practical) using approved Learning Management Packages (LMPs) and schedules.
  • Take on CH-47F Course Manager duties when required.
  • Develop and improve training materials, practical activities and assessment tools.
  • Keep training aids and simulators in top nick and support their upkeep.
  • Stay current as an aircraft maintainer and contribute to the DASR Part 147‑aligned training system.
  • Provide excellent support to students and stakeholders across Army Aviation at Oakey.

Who we want:

  • CH-47F Avionics Type Qualification (B2 MAML) or equivalent.
  • Around 10 years' experience as a Rotary Wing B2 aeroskills technician, supervisor or maintenance manager.
  • Certificate IV in Aeroskills (Avionics) — required.
  • Must be an Australian citizen (Defence security requirement).

Nice-to-haves:

  • Experience delivering training in the Defence environment.
  • Strong people and team skills for working with multi-trade teams.
  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40116) or willingness to complete.
  • Familiarity with DASA Part 147 and Part 66 regs.
  • Solid courseware development, mentoring and coaching skills.
